Welcome to INTA’s 2016 Annual Meeting!

I am pleased to report that the number of registrants expected to attend INTA’s 2016 Annual Meeting is continuing to grow! We estimate that more than 9,500 attendees from over 140 countries will register for this year’s Annual Meeting.

The Co-Chairs, Project Team members and INTA staff have worked closely to develop a full agenda that promises something for everyone! If you are registering for the Annual Meeting for the first time, these important tips will help you optimize your experience. For Annual Meeting veterans, take advantage of additional educational programs on Saturday and Sunday.

Exclusively for in-house practitioners, take advantage of the In-House Practitioners Workshop and Luncheon, In-House Practitioners Reception and Industry Exchanges. We continue to offer our highly popular two-day Course on International Trademark and Practice and Mediation Training, specifically designed for trademark practitioners.

New in 2016! We will debut our first Anticounterfeiting Workshop on Saturday, May 21. This program is open to all in-house practitioners and Anticounterfeiting Committee members. Sessions will provide practical anticounterfeiting solutions, including presentations describing free resources available to brand owners, collaboration with online platforms and much more.

Also new to the 2016 Annual Meeting is an all-day workshop developed exclusively for IP Offices around the world, scheduled for Tuesday, May 24, 8:30 am–5:45 pm. Coordinated by UKIPO, IPOS and INAPI Chile, the workshop will feature an open session to all Annual Meeting registrants on e-filing and e-transactions and then several closed-door sessions for IP Office registrants, as well as a preview of INTA’s Industry Training Seminar organized by the Government Officials Education and Training Committee.

For professors and students, don’t miss our new Academic Series! This offering will span five days! Look for the Academic Series logo in the Schedule by Day to identify sessions developed and approved by the Academic Committee.

In addition to the Africa, China and India receptions, we will feature our first regional receptions for Latin America and the Middle East. Members of the INTA Board of Directors and the INTA Executive Team are keen to hear how INTA initiatives can further strengthen the development of brands and trademarks in these five markets, which are increasingly important to all of us.

Even more networking excursions have been developed exclusively for Annual Meeting registrants to meet other professionals who have similar interests. On Saturday, May 21, for the first time ever, we are offering our very own exclusive concert at the House of Blues featuring Kool & the Gang! So secure your tickets early when you register for the 2016 Annual Meeting!

Thank you to all our members, exhibitors, sponsors, business partners and prospective members for your support at the upcoming Annual Meeting in Orlando. Your contributions to the Association are an expression of your commitment to INTA’s mission. We take this responsibility to heart and intend to deliver the best ever Annual Meeting!

Advance the mission of INTA when you register for the Annual Meeting!
