About San Diego
INTA is excited to bring its 137th Annual Meeting to sunny San Diego, California, in 2015. San Diego offers amazing weather, a rich food, wine and beer culture and many outdoor adventures. More than just a beach town, San Diego offers so many opportunities to visitors of all ages, interests and budgets.
The San Diego Tourism Authority has a great website to help you plan your trip to the city and learn more about San Diego.
Most meeting events will take place at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC), and you can learn more about the venue by visiting their website. INTA’s floor plan will be posted here as soon as it is available so you can take advantage of our new designated meeting points throughout the SDCC and see where the Exhibition Hall, sessions and Registration will be located before the meeting.
New this year, INTA will be offering networking excursions throughout the duration of the meeting. Keep an eye out for dining events Sunday after the Welcome Reception, an evening Sips and Sights cruise, hiking, kayaking and other adventures around the city. You will be able to register for these events on the INTA registration system when it launches in mid-January 2015.
INTA will also be offering its official tour program, which will have even more offerings and opportunities to explore the city and beyond.
San Diego International Airport (SAN) is the main airport, with nearly 600 daily flights providing nonstop and connecting services to major domestic and international destinations across the globe. The airport is less than 5 miles away from the SDCC and is about a 15-minute drive.
Attire for the meeting ranges from business to business casual. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, as the SDCC is quite large and a fair amount of walking is done throughout the day. Attendees are encouraged to dress more casually for the Grand Finale and can wear whatever is most comfortable for them. Don’t forget a jacket, sweater or wrap, as most venues will be air-conditioned and the evenings can be cooler.
Getting Around San Diego
INTA will not provide daily shuttle service to or from the SDCC during the Annual Meeting. San Diego is a very walkable city, and the majority of the hotels are within a 15-minute walk from the SDCC. The city offers plenty of options for public transportation, be it by trolley, train, bus, taxi, ferry, or even limousine. Explore all of your transportation options before your trip.
If you have heard anything about San Diego before, it was probably about the beautiful weather. San Diego enjoys great weather year round, with an average daily temperature of 70.5° F (21.4° C) and very little rain. A marked feature of the climate is the wide variation in temperature within short distances because of the topography of the land. Visitors can sample coastal, mountain and desert environments all in the span of a day.
The SDCC will be air-conditioned during the meeting, so we suggest you bring a light jacket or sweater.
