¡Hola Annual Meeting Registrants!
I look forward to welcoming you to my home country, Spain, for INTA’s 139th Annual Meeting.
Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital city of Spain’s Catalonia region, provides the perfect venue for our growing meeting. This year, we again expect over 10,000 registrants to attend the Annual Meeting. In anticipation of this, the 2017 Annual Meeting Co-Chairs, Project Team Members and INTA staff have worked closely to develop a full agenda that promises something for everyone!
If you are registering for the Annual Meeting for the first time, arm yourself with these tips. If you are an in-house practitioner, take advantage of exclusive programming just for you: the Anticounterfeiting Workshop, Customs Training Session at the Port of Barcelona, In-House Practitioners Workshop and Luncheon, In-House Practitioners Reception and Industry Exchanges. We continue to offer our highly popular two-day Course on International Trademark and Practice and Advanced Mediation Training, specifically designed for trademark practitioners. For professors, look out for sessions marked “Academic Series,” while students are encouraged to participate in Career Development Day on Saturday, May 20. And new in 2017, Annual Meeting Registrants can take advantage of the two-hour Lunch and Learn sessions on Monday and Tuesday showcasing speakers from different walks of life and industries, who will focus on topics that go beyond IP!
Headquarters for the 2017 Annual Meeting will be the Fira Gran Via Convention Center, one of the largest and most modern convention venues in Europe. The Fira Gran Via (Halls 8.0 and 8.1) will be the hub for all Annual Meeting activities, including 300+ educational sessions, 100+ committee meetings, 30+ networking receptions, the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception and regional receptions. Back by popular demand, INTA will provide meeting spaces within the Fira Gran Via. Corporate members should inquire about the free meeting spaces we have available for them in the Fira as well. Travelling to the Convention Center is made easy by Barcelona’s excellent public transportation network, and INTA has made this even easier with a complimentary pass for the public transportation system that you can pick up with your badge at Registration. Annual Meeting registrants will be able to travel to the Fira Gran Via daily from all of the hotels in the INTA block which are close to public transportation.
Plan to optimize your schedule by spending the day at the Fira Gran Via Convention Center. In the evenings, explore the art, food, music, and cultural scenes throughout the city, including Las Ramblas, the fantastical Sagrada Família church, and other modernist landmarks designed by Antoni Gaudí, and other wonderful architects, that dot this charming city!
Thank you to all our members, exhibitors, sponsors, business partners and prospective members for your support at the upcoming Annual Meeting in Barcelona. Your contributions to the Association are an expression of your commitment to INTA’s mission. We take this responsibility to heart and intend to deliver the best ever Annual Meeting to you!
I look forward to welcoming you in Barcelona!
