Roundtable Topic
The future of online trademark protection

You will get the chance to listen to three different perspectives on the topic and be able to ask questions to the speakers. Afterwards we will enjoy the company of each other and have the opportunity to network during a reception with wine and appetizers!

Internet is facing its biggest change in many years. Soon thousands of new top level domains will be launched, creating new opportunities, as well as challenges. Trademark owners will have to be alert and decide on a strategy to maintain good trademark protection online. Trademark owners need to ask themselves; What are the benefits? What are the potential threats? What protection mechanisms are available? Do I need to submit my trademark to the Trademark Clearinghouse? During the seminar representatives from ICANN, from the industry and from an IP law firm will give their views on this topical issue.

Olof Nordling, ICANN – Director of Services Relations, Branch Manager ICANN Brussels office
Carl Wendt, Electrolux – Senior Trade Mark Attorney
Maria Bergstén and Johan Sjöbeck, Groth & Co – IP Attorneys

Why you should attend:

  • Exchange valuable learning experiences and success stories about the Annual Meeting.
  • Network and meet new professionals with a common interest in trademark law.
  • Mingle with friends and peers over hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.

To confirm your attendance, please RSVP by Friday, March 22. Space is limited
