The “Symposium on Anticounterfeiting – Costa Rica 2015”, jointly sponsored by INTA and the Colegio de Abogados de Costa Rica (Costa Rican Bar Association), took place last July 20, 2015, at Universidad Latina in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Before an audience of nearly 100 trademark professionals, the event covered various anticounterfeiting-related issues, including criminal actions, civil procedures, and consumer harms. Speakers included Mr. Michael Lewis, Regional Intellectual Property Attaché of the United States Embassy for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, as well as local prosecutors, judges, and intellectual property attorneys participating on the different panels and presentations. In addition, I had the pleasure of presenting INTA’s Unreal Campaign.
The organizers of the event included Monserrat Alfaro (Legal Print), Leon Weinstok (BLP Abogados), Milena Picado (Arias & Muñoz), Jose Paulo Brenes (Brenes Lleras IP), and Uri Weinstok (BLP Abogados).
