One month to go and we’ll all meet in Hong Kong for an historic occasion: Our first Annual Meeting in Asia! I have in fact just returned from Hong Kong and I took the opportunity to visit the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) - our home base for one week next month. I am now counting the days until we return to the HKCEC! At the very heart of the city, with breath-taking views of Victoria Harbor, all the modern facilities that we could ask for and, of course, an incredible variety of meeting places, this is a truly remarkable venue. Take a look for yourself:

More than 7,800 attendees have already registered for the 2014 Annual Meeting and that number is climbing every day. Among them are 2,300 attendees from Asia, a new record for INTA. We are so pleased to be bringing the world’s premier trademark event to one of the Asia’s most vibrant cities and to be hosting so many first-time attendees from the region.
Hong Kong is often described as the city where East meets West. This Annual Meeting is going bring new meaning to this expression! Whether you’re traveling from Africa, the Americas, Europe, or somewhere in Asia, and no matter if this is your first or 20th Annual Meeting, this event is going to provide exceptional networking. Indeed, even the First-Time Attendee Orientation is seeing record registrations. 400 first-timers attended the orientation last year. Over 1,250 attendees have already signed up for this event in Hong Kong!
If you haven’t already done so, register now and join us in Hong Kong. There’s still time. By registering as an official Annual Meeting attendee you will receive a badge and have access to the fantastic activities taking place at the HKCEC. This is where all the action is: This is where you can network with over 8,500 other attendees from more than 140 countries. This is where you can participate in 34 educational sessions and over 200 table topic discussions, led by 143 speakers from over 30 countries. This is where you can browse the Exhibition Hall, interact with more than 100 trademark solution providers, law firms, media companies, IP offices and trade associations, and take part in speed networking. And besides the excellent networking and business development opportunities, this Annual Meeting is unique in that it will provide international attendees with the chance to meet their Asian counterparts as well as representatives from 38 IP offices and organizations from around with the world. All under one roof!
If you haven’t visited Hong Kong before, this trip is going to be quite an experience. It is truly an amazing city - a melting pot of cultures, evident not only in its friendly citizens, but also in its colorful history, its food, its architecture… It is also one of the world’s leading international financial centers, a regional transport hub that hosted over 48 million tourists last year, and one of the world’s safest cities. We must extend our gratitude to Peter Cheung and the Hong Kong IP Department, and to Raymond Yip and the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, who have been so supportive of the Annual Meeting coming to their city and who have already been tremendously helpful in so many ways. What better location for the 2014 Annual Meeting? This meeting promises to be as productive as ever but this will surely also be one of the most unique and memorable Annual Meeting in recent years.
