INTA has arranged a special meeting rate of €169 single occupancy for a deluxe room per night (excluding state and local taxes). 

You can reserve your room online or call the hotel directly at +49 89/ 93 00 16 39 9 and reference International Trademark Association to confirm the group rate. 

Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the room block is filled or no later than Friday, October 31, 2014, at 5:00 pm EST, at which time reservations are accepted on a space and rate availability basis only. Additionally, please note the following important hotel lodging information:

  • The group rate will apply three (3) days before and after the meeting dates, based on availability.
  • If you are extending your stay before or after the conference for more than two (2) days, please contact the hotel directly.
  • Your hotel reservation must be guaranteed with a major credit card.
  • You may cancel your reservation until Friday, October 31, 2014, with no penalty. Guests not arriving at the hotel or who cancel the booking after October 31, 2014, will be charged 90% of the room rate.
  • Check-in time is 3:00 pm; check-out time is 12:00 pm.
  • The hotel will reconfirm your departure when you check-in.  
 

 Passports and Visas

 

All travelers will need a passport valid for at least 90 days following your departure date from Germany. We strongly recommend traveling with 6 months validity on your passport at all times. We recommend that you have at least two free pages in the visas section of your passport before any international travel.  

For citizens of EU countries a valid identity card is sufficient.

Visa Exemptions

EU citizens do not require a visa. Citizens of all other countries will generally need a visa, with the exception of the following 42 countries that do not need a visa for short stays in Germany.

Visa Required

All nationalities that are not included in the above 42 countries must apply for a visa. Citizens of the following countries MUST APPLY IN PERSON at a German consulate:

 Transportation

 

The Westin Grand Munich is 35 km (21 miles) from Munich Airport. Whether you arrive at Munich Airport via the motorway or from the train station in the Munich’s City Centre, you can reach the Westin Munich Grand in just a few minutes, thanks to excellent transport connections to the Mittleren Ring road and the motorway.  And if you want to go somewhere else, the U-Bahn (metro) stops directly outside the front door of the hotel, making for a quick and easy journey to, for example, the Munich Trade Fair grounds or the City Centre.


Arriving by plane

Take the city train lines S1 or S8 in the direction of the City Centre. From the München Hauptbahnhof (Munich’s main train station), take the metro line U4 in the direction of Arabellapark. Get off at the terminus station, Arabellapark. Follow the signs for “The Westin Grand München.”


Arriving by train

From Hauptbahnhof (the main train station), take the U4 metro line toward Arabellapark and get off at the Arabellapark station. Exit the station in the opposite direction from the direction of travel and follow the signs for “The Westin Grand München.”


Arriving by car

Coming from the Nuremberg A9 motorway, leave the motorway at the Föhringer Ring / Frankfurter Ring exit and continue on the Föhringer Ring road until you reach the district of Bogenhausen. At the Effnerplatz crossroads, turn left twice and then turn right from Effnerstraße onto Englschalkinger Straße. The first street on the right is Arabellastraße.

Munich’s City Centre is classified as an Environmental Zone (green zone) and every vehicle entering this zone—whether registered in Germany or in another country—must display an Environmental Badge. The Westin Grand Munich is outside the green zone; however, if you wish to drive into Munich center, a badge is required. Foreign visitors can now obtain the environmental badge for their car online.

Taxis

  • Taxi stands are located at each terminal at Munich Airport.
  • Every driver is obliged to take the passenger to destinations within the mandatory coverage area.
  • Depending on their needs, passengers can choose from among the following vehicle types: sedan, station wagon, minibus (up to eight persons), etc.
  • Passengers can choose to travel in a smoking or non-smoking vehicle.
  • Payment is calculated per taxi and not per person.
 

 In and Around Munich

 

Discover the open-hearted metropolis of Munich, Germany, and take in its many unique sights, including the new town hall, the Allianz Arena, and a host of first-rate museums. Munich is home to countless beer gardens, street cafés and green spaces. It also boasts ancient pastureland on the banks of the Isar River as well as distinct and vibrant neighborhoods such as Schwabing, Haidhausen and Giesing. Visitors can experience Bavarian tradition at the Oktoberfest, the largest fair in the world, held every year in the fall.

The hotel is central to numerous attractions, providing opportunities for exploration and relaxation. Visit the luxury shopping mile of Maximilianstraße, found in the heart of the city. Experience the tradition and history of the “real Munich” at the central Marienplatz and the famed Viktualien Market. Among the many popular sites accessible on foot from the hotel is the world-renowned, 900-acre English Garden, perfect for long strolls on temperate days. The garden boasts one of the best views of Munich from the Monopteros, a classical pavilion built on a hillside. Other highlights are the Chinese Tower and the Japanese Teahouse, a gift from a Japanese emperor.

 

 Climate and Dress

 

Munich’s average temperature in December is 38°F (3°C) and the average low temperature at night is  26°F (-3°C).  

Business casual attire is encouraged for the meeting. Meeting rooms are well air-conditioned and the inside temperature might be slightly warmer or cooler than you find comfortable. Therefore, it is suggested that you dress in layers (it’s a good idea to have a light jacket and/or shawl with you).
