The Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks provides a means to simultaneously seek protection for a trademark in a large number of countries. It is simple, saves time and is cost-effective. India started accepting Madrid applications on July 8, 2013. Till date, a very limited number of applications originating from India have been filed using this new system. At the same time, India has been designated more than 6000 times by foreign brand owners. Attend this seminar to learn more about the system and its advantages and receive practical input on filing strategies and how to avoid pitfalls based on the experiences of other countries.
