The International Trademark Association (INTA) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP) are pleased to invite you to attend and participate in an INTA–BASCAP workshop on the roles and responsibilities of intermediaries in enforcing IP rights. This one-day workshop, Intermediaries and Rights Holders—Working Together to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy, will take place at the Kerry Hotel in Beijing on September 21, 2016. The Quality Brands Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (QBPC) will support the event as a local co-organizer.
The event will bring together key stakeholders to explore opportunities for rights holders, intermediaries, and governments to work together on solutions. BASCAP will present some of its findings in the recent report entitled “Roles and Responsibilities of Intermediaries: Fighting Counterfeiting and Piracy in the Supply Chain,” and INTA and QBPC will share some of their best practices for addressing the sale of counterfeits through voluntary collaboration. Workshop sessions will focus on several of the key types of intermediary categories, with speakers discussing the challenges and opportunities to cooperate on innovative responses.
