First speaker scheduled at 10:00 am
The aim of the roundtable is to address the so-called “IP Translator Case” (CJEU ruling C-307/10) and its effects on practice on both the PTO and local agents. There is a noticeable need in the local IP community to identify these effects and reformulate protocol regarding the scope of protection of class heading registrations in order to best serve clients. The purpose is furthermore to raise questions about interpretation of the ruling in a local and international scope and hear from the local IP community, which may or may not affect the course of action taken by the Icelandic PTO regarding the matter.
