Online brand protection – exploring the risks of brand erosion on the Internet, social media, and mobile app channels.

10:00 am–12:30 pm
CSC will use examples of brand infringement to highlight the significance of Internet monitoring, and share the expertise around best practices.
The Internet, domain names, social media sites, and mobile apps offer an organisation a place to build brand presence, and interact with audiences in new and creative ways. Yet without a means to monitor this space, organisations are also vulnerable to infringement—in the form of cyberattacks and fraud—that lead to negative exposure and brand erosion. The social media world has grown explosively in the past few years, with networking sites such as Facebook®, Twitter®, YouTube™, and LinkedIn® now boasting hundreds of millions of subscribers. From the mobile app perspective, monitoring a space that already has 1.5 million apps and is growing by the day is time-consuming and complex unless you have the technology, processes, and forensic skills in place. This session also looks into the opportunities associated with these digital channels to help organisations understand what they can do to protect, monitor, and enforce their brand rights.
