Online brand protection – Exploring the risks of brand erosion on the Internet, social media, and mobile app channels.
Friday, October 30, 2015
3:00 pm–5:00 pm
The Internet, domain names, social media sites, and mobile apps offer an organization a place to build brand presence, and interact with audiences in new and creative ways. The social media world has grown explosively in the past few years, with networking sites such as Facebook®, Twitter®, YouTube™, and LinkedIn® now boasting hundreds of millions of subscribers. Yet, organizations are rightfully concerned about risks of cyberattacks, fraud and infringements that lead to negative exposure and brand erosion. This session looks into the opportunities associated with these digital channels and discuss the technology, processes and skills required to help organizations understand what they can do to protect, monitor, and enforce their brand rights.
Examples of brand infringement will be cited to highlight the significance of Internet monitoring and facilitate discussion about best practices.
