Andrea Rush is a Partner in the firm, and a member of the Intellectual Property and Information Technology Groups. A certified specialist in trademarks and copyright, and a patent and trade-mark agent registered to practice law in both Ontario and Quebec, Andrea’s practice focuses on ICT (information and communications technologies), as well as marketing and advertising law. Andrea has appeared as lead counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada, Federal Court, Copyright Board and Trade-marks Opposition Board, and advises on commercialization of intellectual property and technology.

Dr. Ruth M. Corbin, ICD.D, Ph.D., LL.D. is Chair of Corbin Partners Inc., an Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall, York University, and a Corporate Director. A recognized expert in marketing and intellectual property assessments, Ruth has previously been Vice-Chair of Leger Marketing, President of Kroll Canada, Chief Operating Officer of the Angus Reid Group, and Managing Partner of Royal Trust’s Credit Card and Direct Financial Services Businesses. She is widely published on matters of intellectual property, survey evidence, and risk management, and in frequent demand as a speaker to business audiences. Her book, Survey Evidence and the Law Worldwide, is Canada’s leading reference text on social science evidence in litigation and regulatory affairs. She has been named among Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women and among Canada’s Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs. University of Toronto’s University College has listed her among the college’s most influential Alumni in its history.
James Buchan is a partner located in Gowlings' Toronto office. He is a member of the firm's Board of Trustees, as well as a past leader of the firm's National Practice Group for Intellectual Property Litigation and a past co-leader of its National Trademarks Practice Group. As a barrister and solicitor, James' expertise in the IP field is broad-based and extensive, covering a wide range of IP-related contentious and non-contentious matters, including patent, trademark and copyright litigation. James has appeared as counsel of record in more than 25 reported decisions of the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada, and has been counsel in over 750 trademark opposition and expungement proceedings before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
