Changes the New IP Law in Ecuador Will Bring to Trademark Practice

Ecuador’s National Assembly (Congress equivalent) is discussing the draft of a new IP bill entitled “Código Orgánico de la Economía Social del Conocimiento,” or “Código Ingenios.” This bill will replace the existing Ecuadorean Intellectual Property Law enacted in 1998, and Chapter IV, would replace the provisions referring to “Trademarks.” Join experts from private and public practice in Ecuador to discuss how these changes will modify the existing framework for the protection of trademarks in Ecuador.
