Trademark Use in the Online Environment
Friday, March 30
12:30 pm–2:30 pm
(registration open 12:30 pm–1:00 pm)
5th Floor, Alexandra House
Trademark laws are territorial but the Internet is an international medium. The online environment complicates the requirement to establish use and goodwill in a trademark which are crucial to trade mark prosecution and litigation. Thus, it is an opportune time to discuss when the use of a trademark online would constitute genuine use in defense of non-use cancellation actions, and under what circumstances would online use be considered to have established sufficient goodwill and reputation to support enforcement actions in Hong Kong.
Come join your colleagues for this lively discussion, including free lunch!
- Patsy Y. Lau and Charmaine Koo, Partners – Intellectual Property, Deacons (Hong Kong)
Admittance to the roundtable (which includes a light lunch) is free. Spaces are limited. For questions and to confirm registration by Thursday, March 22 via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The roundtable will be conducted in English.
