Legal Aspects to Consider When Choosing a New Trademark

Join us in Guatemala City for an INTA Roundtable and learn how attorneys can help prevent future legal problems when choosing a new trademark, especially for company executives and advertising agencies.

Wednesday, August 29, 2012
8:30 am-11:30 am

Guatemala City, Guatemala

The purpose of this roundtable is to discuss the legal aspects to be considered when choosing a new trademark from the perspective of all parties involved in the process of developing that trademark (trademark attorney, trademark owner and advertisement agencies), keeping in mind commercial and advertising needs and preferences of the public.

Attendees will learn:

  • Trademark owners will better understand how to balance advertising and commercial needs with potential legal risks.
  • Attorneys will better understand how clients and advertising agencies choose new trademarks and how to influence the process in a business-oriented way.
  • Advertising agencies will learn more about the legal problems and expenses produced by choosing a new trademark without a proper legal analysis.
