Join us in Singapore for an INTA Roundtable discussion on Regulatory Compliance Issues that Affect Trademark Use.
Wednesday, August 29, 2012
10:30 am-1:30 pm
In this age of globalization, deliberate efforts are made towards harmonization of trademark registration laws and procedures, and inter-governmental negotiations for Free Trade Agreements so as to facilitate cross-border trading in goods and services. Yet, whether to protect local industry or to safeguard the local population from deception, contamination or health risks, governments set up more and more stringent legal frameworks to regulate which compounds and designs are admitted, which kinds of marketing methods and labeling are misleading and what product names are compliant. In such circumstances, we may secure trademark registrations only to be prevented from actual use of the trademarks in certain countries because of regulatory compliance issues.
In this roundtable, trademark owners and practitioners can come together to learn about regulatory compliance so as to better ensure success in the regional or global branding efforts of our enterprises.
