Sign up today for an INTA Roundtable on the Madrid Protocol and Nontraditional Trademarks in Thailand.
Thursday, February 10
6:30 pm–8:30 pm
Siam Premier International
26th Floor of the Offices at Central World
999/9 Rama 1 Road, Khwaeng Pathumwan
Khet Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330
In Thailand's IP community there is a keen interest in how the Madrid Protocol will affect trademark filings. Thus, now is the ideal time to discuss the implications of the Protocol and how Thai companies can use it to efficiently and economically register trademarks overseas.
Thailand’s trademark law specifies color/shape combinations and configurations of objects can act as trademarks. In addition, the draft amendment to the Thailand Trademark Act includes “smells” and “sounds” in the definition of trademarks.
At this Roundtable you'll share experiences and perspectives on non-traditional trademarks in Thailand and in other countries, especially in light of the fact that recognition of scent and sound marks appears to be imminent, and to share views on what the future looks like for brand owners in this area of trademark development.
The Roundtable will be conducted in English and Thai.
Daniel Q. Greif, Senior Counsel–Intellectual Property, Siam Premier International (Bangkok, Thailand)
Admittance to the roundtable (which includes a light dinner) is free.
