Advancement of Trademark Law

Fabricio Vayra
(Time Warner—New York, New York, USA) was described by his peers as INTA’s “ringleader” on the Association’s response to ICANN’s Draft Applicant Guidebook for the Introduction of new gTLDs. Within six months, he led the response to two new versions of this Guidebook, as well as the proposed rulebook for new TLD applications.

Advancement of Committee or Subcommittee Objectives

Tish Berard
(Hearts On Fire Company LLC—Boston, Massachusetts, USA) was instrumental in planning the first In-House Practitioners Luncheon and Workshop to be held during an Annual Meeting.

Justine Wiebe (Bereskin & Parr LLP—Toronto, Ontario, Canada) has spent four years as a principal editor of INTA’s Trade Dress: International Practice and Procedure online database. With her team and fellow editor Doug Rettew (Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garret & Dunner LLP, Washington, DC, USA), Justine helped create a comprehensive research tool on trade dress protection for trademark professionals across the globe.

Advancement of the Association

David C. Berry (Thomas M. Cooley Law School—Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA) proposed and helped implement the first ever Annual Meeting Academic Day, at this year’s meeting in Boston. The day proved popular not only with professors but also with INTA’s student and young practitioner members.
