2011 President's Award


David Bernstein (Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, USA) has been a dedicated and committed leader for many years. He participated in a number of committees, including the Internet Committee and Programs Committee. He co-chaired the 2005 Annual Meeting in San Diego and served with distinction on the Board of Directors from 2002-2003 and as Counsel from 2006-2007.

In other INTA activities, David was a member of the Dilution Task Force and was a principal drafter of what became the 2006 U.S. Trademark Dilution Revision Act. As the 2010-2011 Chair of the U.S. Amicus Subcommittee of the International Amicus Committee, David oversaw the submission of a number of amicus briefs, through which the Association has influenced the outcome of several U.S. trademark cases, including Chloe v. Queen Bee of Beverly Hills, Fleischer Studios, Inc. v. A.V.E.L.A., Inc. and Levi Strauss & Co. v. Abercrombie & Fitch Trading Co.
