ANNUAL MEETING STARTS IN STYLE

This year’s Annual Meeting is set to
break records, becoming the best-attended in INTA’s history.
As of May 11, 7,088 individuals had registered for the Meeting, with INTA
expecting more registrations. The previous record was 7,011 attendees, set at the
Washington DC Annual Meeting in 2002.
While the US has the largest
representation – 2,760 – US attendees are in the minority, with 4,328 attendees coming
from overseas. The country with the second largest number of attendees is the
UK, with 447, followed by Canada, with 266, and Germany, with 199.
In all, attendees from 125 countries
will be at this year’s Annual Meeting, including Suriname, the Turks and
Caicos Islands, Macedonia and Tajikistan.
Among this year’s attendees are 591
exhibitors, 10 members of the press, and 40 professor/student members. This
year’s Meeting is the first since the INTA broadened its membership to the world
of academia.
