Sessions and Industry Breakouts
Amid a broad range of educational programs, a special track on “Trademarks in Entertainment” is being offered, which enables you to learn about product placement (and misplacement) in movies, merchandising famous brands, character licensing, use of celebrity endorsers, sports marketing, ambush marketing and marketing to children. Sessions related to the entertainment industry
can be identified here.
A full complement of breakout sessions relating to the following industries will be featured: food and beverages, toys, entertainment and sports, pharmaceuticals, alcoholic beverages, luxury goods, motor vehicles, chemicals, petroleum and refineries, cosmetics and consumer goods, apparel and accessories, telecommunications and computers.
The always popular annual review session on federal case law and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board developments, as well
as an annual review of international case law, will be offered. The meeting will also include programs on geographical
indications, the link between the Community Trade Mark System and the Madrid Protocol, trademark ethics, and much
more.
Workshops
A variety of two-hour workshops on substantive issues provide an unparalleled opportunity to polish your skills in oral advocacy, negotiation strategy, taking and defending depositions, conducting due diligence, using alternative dispute resolution, trademark searching, prosecuting and defending UDRP proceedings for domain names, and designing consumer perception surveys.
There is no additional fee to attend these workshops; however, there is limited seating capacity. Therefore, we urge
you to arrive at the workshops promptly.
