Academic Competitions and Programs Print

INTA's academic competitions and programs provide essential educational and networking opportunities for professors and students of trademark law. The next several years will be an exciting time as the Association continues to develop and build its academic community. Participation at our academic competitions and programs is open to students and professors from all over the world; however, please note the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition is open to law students throughout the United States.

  • Ladas Memorial Award – This writing competition was established in tribute to the distinguished practitioner and author Stephen P. Ladas. Presented annually in two author categories, Students and Professionals, the Award is given to the best paper on the subject of trademark law or a matter that directly relates to or affects trademarks.
  • Learned Professors Trademark Symposium Each year the Symposium is held as a means to further extend INTA’s efforts to attract professor and student members to the organization. To that end, the speakers each year are all academics with a specific focus on IP.
  • Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition – This annual moot court competition is open to teams of law school students from accredited law schools throughout the country. Law students who participate in the competition have the opportunity to develop their brief writing and oral advocacy skills in a mock courtroom experience.
