The International Trademark Association’s (INTA) 2009 Leadership Meeting in Miami Beach, Florida, USA taking place November 11 – 14, 2009, at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, is the ideal opportunity for INTA’s leaders to exchange ideas, conduct important business and network with colleagues from around the world. Throughout the meeting, the Association’s volunteers will gather to plan the activities and events for the coming year and look to the future of INTA. In addition, from Thursday to Saturday, intellectual property experts will present advanced-level educational sessions and provide attendees with valuable information on the latest developments in trademark law.

Better, Stronger, Faster: Rebuilding Your Brand Strategy in 2010

This year’s Leadership Meeting will focus on helping in-house and law firm practitioners transform into legal heroes behind the brands. We are seeing brand owners explore new ways of empowering their trademark portfolios to produce better value and embracing innovative practices and techniques to rebuild their brand strategies to achieve a better, stronger, faster result at a lower cost. Discover how leading trademark professionals develop the necessary tools to successfully rebuild brand strategies and stay current in the ever changing business world.

The educational sessions begin with an exciting, high-impact, interactive look at the leadership challenges that you face on the job and as an INTA volunteer.  This exciting session, presented by On Your Feet, a renowned consulting group that uses humorous improvisation and experiential techniques in its delivery should not be missed. The other sessions will offer attendees insight on brand usage in new media such as Twitter® and Facebook®, comparative advertising around the world using real ads as examples, budget management, creative billing and outsourcing in a bad economy, and ethical issues that all lawyers face, especially in-house counsel. The protection of celebrity personalities, pushing new boundaries with nontraditional marks, and the intent behind an “intent to use” requirement will also be covered.

Attendees will also have plenty of opportunities to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, as well as forge new ones, in Miami Beach.
