Trademark Administrators and Practitioners Meeting
September 17–19, 2017
Sheraton New Orleans Hotel
New Orleans, Louisiana, United States

Join more than 300 trademark and brand protection professionals in New Orleans for three days of education, networking, inspiration, and empowerment! This year’s educational program will help attendees navigate filings, manage portfolios, and protect and expand their brands, and empower them to become innovative leaders within their organizations. CLE credits are available.

Panel discussions featuring more than 25 distinguished speakers will cover pertinent issues that brand owners face today, including:

  • Social Media Best Practices: With the rise of emojis, hashtags, re-tweets, etc., industry experts will discuss best practices for brands as they interact with consumers online.
  • Challenges of Trademark Filing in China: Businesses face many challenges when filing and enforcing trademarks in China. This session will cover best practices for conducting business in this region.
  • Indigenous Rights: Panelists will explore the interconnection between brands and indigenous rights, and the way in which brands can successfully work with local communities.

The speaker lineup also features keynote speakers from New Orleans:

  • David Emond, Executive Director of Liberty’s Kitchen, a social enterprise dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable New Orleans youth through workforce training, leadership development, and other programs; and
  • Wendell Brunious, an American jazz trumpeter and New Orleans jazz legend, and Bill Taylor, Executive Director of the Trombone Shorty Foundation.
