New to the INTA Annual Meeting?

Are you a first-time attendee of the INTA Annual Meeting? Following are some tips on how to successfully navigate your first Annual Meeting experience.

Before the Meeting

  • Review the meeting program, special events, and exhibitor list.
  • Register to attend and select any special events you want to add on to your program.
  • Book your hotel.
  • Book your travel.

    • Note: All individuals from outside the United States require a valid passport to enter the United States. To determine if you also require a visa or other documentation to enter the United States, please visit the U.S. Department of State website for more details.

    • If needed for your country, you will be able to order an official visa letter from INTA during the registration process. Click here for more details.

  • Use Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to let your contacts know you are attending.
  • Download the Annual Meeting mobile app. (Link forthcoming)
  • Print your e-ticket with bar code and pack it to bring on the first day of the meeting.

At the Meeting

  • Take care of logistics:

    • Bring your e-ticket with bar code to the registration desk to check in and receive your printed badge (badges will not be mailed). The registration desk opens on Saturday, May 19, at 9:00 am, and will be open daily throughout the Annual Meeting.
    • Keep your badge with you at all times. Wear it to access the Washington State Convention Center, general educational sessions, the Exhibition Hall, receptions, and events at neighboring hotels.
    • Get your bearings. Look at the floor plans and maps provided when you register to find out how to best get around the convention center and exhibit floor and how to find conference hotels and receptions.

  • Join the Annual Meeting First-Time Attendee Orientation and Reception on Saturday, May 19, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Veteran attendees share their experiences and tips for getting the most out of the Annual Meeting, plus there’s plenty of time to meet and mingle with other first-time registrants.

  • Stay up-to-date and connected throughout the five days.

    • Read the free INTA Daily News every morning to get Annual Meeting highlights, features, photos, and news as well as the printed daily schedule.
    • Download the free INTA mobile app and maintain digital access to all the information you need about the Annual Meeting schedule of events, room locations, committee meetings, and last-minute changes and notifications.

  • Explore your interests—or learn something new.

    • Choose from more than 300 customized educational opportunities, including 35 general sessions, in which to take part.
    • Review the online Schedule by Day well in advance and mark sessions of interest in your calendar or create your own schedule on the mobile app. Full session descriptions and speaker details are updated regularly.
    • If you prefer a small discussion, register for one of the 255 Table Topics to share a meal with ten other professionals. Table Topics sell out quickly, so be sure to reserve when you register.

  • Network, network, network!

    • Take the opportunity to meet people wherever you can.
    • Try Speed Networking, one of fastest ways to get to know your fellow IP professionals. When you visit the Exhibition Hall, participate in this fun and productive event.
    • Register for additional networking excursions, which will deepen your relationship with new and existing contacts while you explore the city. These excursions sell out quickly, so be sure to reserve your spot in advance.
    • Mix and mingle at the Welcome Reception from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Sunday, May 20, at the Washington State Convention Center. Check out the numerous receptions that will take place during the week of the meeting, and make sure to attend the Grand Finale Block Party at the Seattle Center on Wednesday, May 23 from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

  • New! Sign up for the INTA Newcomers Match Program.

    • Note: The sign-up form is now closed. This program has reached capacity.

 After the Meeting

  • Share the learning—every attendee receives a copy of the standard conference proceedings, which includes all the educational sessions synced with presentation slides so that when you go back you can catch up on what you missed and share content with the rest of your team.
  • Take the Annual Meeting survey and let use hear your voice.
