A First-timer’s Guide to the INTA Annual Meeting in Boston

Below are some questions and answers to help you navigate and get the most out of your first INTA Annual Meeting

What do I need to do before I leave for Boston?

Review the meeting program, special events, and exhibitor list (links). Then Register to attend (link) and select any special events you want to add to your schedule.

Look out for the Know Before You Go email all registrants will receive from INTA in early May.  It contains your e-ticket with bar code. You will need to show this bar code (either in print or electronic form) to receive your badge on the first day so make sure you save this email!

Where should I stay?

INTA has discounted rates at 28 centrally located hotels convenient to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.  Once you have registered you will receive a link to our hotel booking system. Check out the variety of selections and make your choice (link).

What kind of documentation do I need to enter the United States?

All individuals from outside the United States require a valid passport to enter the United States. To determine if you also require a visa or other documentation to enter the United States, please visit the U.S. Department of State website for more details.

  • If needed for your country, you will be able to order an official visa letter from INTA during the registration process. Click here for more details.

What should I do on the first day?

Your first day is an excellent time to get your bearings and plan for the week ahead.

Bring your e-ticket with bar code to the registration desk to check in and receive your printed badge (badges will not be mailed). The registration desk opens on Saturday, May 18, at 9:00 am, and will be open daily throughout the Annual Meeting.

Then join the Annual Meeting First-Time Attendee Orientation and Reception on Saturday, May 18, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Veteran attendees share their experiences and tips for getting the most out of the Annual Meeting, plus there’s plenty of time to meet and mingle with other first-time registrants.

How do I stay on top of what’s happening when?

Read the free INTA Daily News every morning to get Annual Meeting highlights, features, photos, and news as well as the printed daily schedule.

Download the free INTA mobile app and maintain digital access to all the information you need about the Annual Meeting schedule of events, room locations, committee meetings, and last-minute changes and notifications.

How do I choose which sessions to attend?

Review the online Schedule by Day well in advance and mark sessions of interest in your calendar or create your own schedule on the mobile app (there are more than 300 to choose from!). Full session descriptions and speaker details are updated regularly.

How do I make meaningful connections with 10,000 people?
We have many small meetings within the big one, that will ensure you don’t get lost in the crowd.  In addition to the First-Timers Reception, consider attending
  • Speed networking, one of fastest ways to get to know your fellow IP professionals. When you visit the Exhibition Hall, participate in this fun and productive event. (link)
  • Table Topics – INTA’s small group discussions over breakfast and/or lunch (link)
  • A networking excursion around Boston (link)
  • More a dozen INTA-hosted networking receptions held throughout the week
