SYRIA: Syria Withdraws from Madrid Agreement, Remains Member of the Protocol
Syrian President Bashar Assad has issued Presidential Decree No. 179, announcing the cancellation of Syria’s accession to the Madrid Agreement for the International Registration of Marks (the Madrid Agreement), endorsed in conformity with Decree No. 92 of March 25, 2004.
The new Decree states that work continues with the remaining regulations of the 2004 Decree, which announced Syria’s accession to the Madrid Protocol.
Decree No. 179 was published in the Official Gazette on May 27, 2012.
