David Lossignol Begins Term as 2019 INTA President
Published: January 15, 2019
For David Lossignol, the start of his term as 2019 INTA President caps a history of more than 15 years with the Association and kicks off what he describes as a full plate of activities to advance INTA’s mission and to address major challenges facing the intellectual property (IP) community.
Mr. Lossignol, who is currently Head of Trademarks, Domain Names and Copyrights at Novartis Pharma AG in Basel, Switzerland, began his term as INTA’s President and Chair of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee on January 1. He joined the Board in 2013, after having served on several committees since 2003.
In the months ahead, his chief priorities will include protecting brand owners under Brexit, fighting anti-IP sentiment, raising awareness of and taking steps to curb the proliferation of counterfeiting, and initiating a Presidential Task Force that will promote “brands for a better society.”
