INTA Highlights Intellectual Property Valuation at Meeting in Mumbai, India
Published: September 15, 2019
IP valuation is of critical importance in today’s “intangible asset economy,” and many companies now have the bulk of their value and capital structure represented in intangible assets, including IP. This was key point raised by INTA member Mahua Roy Chowdhury (ROYZZ & Co., India) during her presentation at a recent INTA Corporate Member meeting held in Mumbai, India, at the office of Wockhardt Ltd. on August 23.
The meeting, which focused on intellectual property (IP) valuation, included an in-depth master class by Ms. Chowdhury, touching on methods of valuation, the Indian accounting system, the valuation of trademarks, brand valuation, and customer valuation.
After the presentation, audience members were encouraged to attend INTA’s 2019 India Workshop: Made in India: Evolving Trends in Brand Protection, which will take place on September 25 in New Delhi, India, exploring the latest developments in trademark and brand protection. This special workshop is covered in detail here.
INTA’s Corporate Member meetings provide educational insights and updates on the work of the Association, as well as to discuss and address members’ common concerns with their in-house counterparts.
INTA would like to thank Debolina Partap, Rupali Lonkar, and the legal team of Wockhardt Ltd. for hosting INTA’s Corporate Member meeting and Ms. Chowdhury for demystifying the complex topic of IP valuation.
