Annual Meeting Host City Selection
INTA’s Annual Meeting venue is selected through a meticulous, collaborative process that emphasizes global accessibility, excellent facilities, and member value. Confidentiality is maintained throughout to protect negotiating leverage and secure favorable rates, ensuring a world-class experience for all registrants. Early sourcing—beginning at least five years in advance—allows for thorough planning and responsible financial stewardship. Registration is essential to participate and benefit from these exceptional opportunities designed for our diverse community of intellectual property (IP) professionals.
INTA values strategic collaboration with peer associations and members through thoughtfully co-located events. However, our foremost priority remains ensuring robust participation and engagement in the Annual Meeting. To preserve the integrity and exceptional value of this flagship event, we respectfully request that ancillary activities be scheduled after the official INTA program concludes, thereby enabling registrants to fully benefit from the Annual Meeting. Should supplementary events coincide with the Annual Meeting, all participants must also be registered for the INTA Annual Meeting and ensure that they do not conflict with key INTA events. As such, we invite all individuals and organizations leveraging INTA’s presence in a host city to inform us of their activities via our affiliate event program. By sharing your events, you contribute to the broader value and connectivity of our Annual Meeting experience.
Accurate attendance data is critical to our negotiations with host cities. Without a precise understanding of the registrant presence, our ability to secure favorable terms and achieve cost efficiencies is diminished, ultimately impacting on the quality and value delivered to all registrants. By adhering to these guidelines, we collectively uphold the premier experience that defines the INTA Annual Meeting.
INTA employs a regional rotation strategy for its Annual Meeting, hosting the event in the United States for two consecutive years, followed by an international location in the third year. This approach underscores our commitment as a global association to fostering accessibility and inclusivity. By rotating locations, we ensure that members from all jurisdictions have equitable opportunities to participate, eliminating the need to travel to the same region each year.
When considering international locations, INTA deliberately seeks opportunities to engage with government officials and local stakeholders in the region. This approach not only strengthens our advocacy efforts but also raises awareness of critical IP issues and helps expand our membership base by fostering meaningful connections within the host community.
