Monday, May 4, 2026 2:45 pm – 3:45 pm General Session Law & Policy TrackComplimentary
London, England

This session explores the concept of amicus proceedings, a mechanism that allows third-party interventions on legal matters in court cases. Along with judges from different jurisdictions, we will examine the current state of amicus proceedings around the world, drawing lessons from the experiences of the US, where this practice has deep roots and a long-standing tradition. During this session, we will hear the judicial perspective and spark a discussion on the future of amicus proceedings in jurisdictions where these are not currently available and their potential impact on the development of IP law.
