Leadership Meeting

November 19–22, 2019
Fairmont Austin Hotel
Austin, Texas

The Leadership Meeting brings together INTA volunteers and leaders once a year to advance the Association’s objectives and goals. This meeting offers registrants an advanced-level educational program and the opportunity to conduct business and network with colleagues from around the world over four days in an amazing location. INTA is excited to bring the Leadership Meeting to Austin, Texas for the first time—“Live Music Capital of the World” and home to some of the best BBQ in America.

The programming will feature a double track of concurrent programs in the afternoons––giving you more opportunities to find subject matter with takeaways for your own practice. The expanded programming has enabled a larger category of programs, encompassing substantive content and skills for in-house and private practice lawyers and brand owners. The many sessions being offered will address the cutting-edge issues of trademark law, including, but not limited to: the latest AI tools available to run your business, issues relating to the emerging industry of cannabis, Free Trade Zones, and Online Counterfeiting, as well as deeper dives into design patent and copyright issues. The program also feature two highlight sessions where the audience will hear directly from C-Suite level speakers from Ogilvy and South by Southwest (SXSW). And back for its second year will be the INTA Influencers session which gives dedicated association leaders the opportunity to share their passions and personal experiences with their peers.

Registrants will also have the opportunity to register for exclusive executive workshops developed and presented by the Center for Executive Development at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, as well as a CSR initiative at the Central Texas Food Bank which will give volunteers an opportunity to give back to the local community while working with fellow registrants.

Don’t miss this exciting program and your opportunity to wrap up your committee work for the term and plan for the next committee term.

I always attend INTA’s Leadership Meeting because it is the perfect opportunity to learn practical skills from fellow ‘leaders,’ which helps me grow as a volunteer within the Association and also in my career.  This year I am especially excited to attend the LM in my hometown, as I will be able to network in a unique city filled with amazing live music venues, delicious food , and the best margaritas in the country.

The Leadership Meeting is one of the best conferences. It provides the opportunity to have a face-to-face meeting with the people of the committee you have been interacting with along the year and have a fruitful discussion on how to move forward the different tasks you have been working on….
