About INTA
Corporate Social Responsibility
INTA’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a pillar of our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan. We focus our efforts on these areas:
- Promoting belonging and inclusion in the global intellectual property community;
- Reducing the environmental impact of INTA in-person events;
- Promoting CSR policies throughout the Association’s global membership;
- Developing and facilitating pro bono opportunities for INTA members around the world; and
- Raising awareness among consumers about the dangers of counterfeit goods and around the positive role of brands in society.

Belonging & Inclusion Council
INTA is committed to fostering a global IP community that thrives on the principles of belonging and inclusion. As a member-driven organization, INTA strives to create an environment of respectful discourse where all members, regardless of their experience, ability, or perspective, feel valued, heard, and empowered. INTA aims to ensure equal access to opportunities, and champion a culture of inclusivity that celebrates the richness of its membership.

The Women’s LeadershIP Initiative
INTA supports the representation and advancement of women in IP. Through ongoing candid conversations and research to understand the underlying issues, we’re working to foster more inclusion, connections, and opportunities for women around the world.
The Women’s LeadershIP Initiative is designed to champion and advance women’s leadership in IP and through which INTA provides sustained programs to help women in our community advance their careers and achieve professional success.

INTA Foundation
The INTA Foundation is a charitable organization working to expand educational opportunities that empower students and professionals to join, shape, and strengthen the IP community.

Going Green at INTA Events
Carbon Offset Program
As an Association, we bring our community together regularly at in-person gatherings, including at our flagship Annual Meeting. With registrants flying from around the world to participate, these events can have a huge environmental impact.
INTA is committed to being part of the solution through our Carbon Offset Program, which enables registrants to quickly and easily reduce their own carbon footprint and help INTA achieve its goal of carbon neutral events. Help us achieve this goal!

Green Swag Awards
The Green Swag Awards challenge exhibitors to provide more sustainable—and more appealing—swag that has been thoughtfully and sustainably sourced using natural or recycled products. Meeting registrants vote for the best of the best of the green swag among the participating exhibitors and the winning exhibitors are announced toward the end of the meeting.
The competition is encouraging vendors to move toward more sustainable giveaways in an engaging way that allows registrants to get involved. The initiative is also helping the Association reduce the overall environmental impact at its events.

Promoting CSR Policies
Research and studies have shown that consumers expect brands to participate in global efforts to adopt more sustainable business models.
INTA’s goal is to show that brands serve the interests of brand owners, consumers, and society at large. This objective involves raising awareness of strategies for brands to elevate, advance, and share their CSR initiatives that drive brand trust and value.

Pro Bono
The Pro Bono Committee identifies and develops opportunities to provide eligible individuals and organizations with access to legal assistance, including through the Pro Bono Clearinghouse and Pro Bono Clinics.
The Pro Bono Clearinghouse matches eligible clients facing trademark issues with member attorneys who volunteer to provide services free of charge. A global initiative, it is the only program of its kind dedicated primarily to trademarks.

Unreal Campaign
Given the proliferation of counterfeiting worldwide, our awareness-raising campaign to educate young consumers about the value of trademarks and brands and the dangers of counterfeit products has been growing in importance and impact.
Our Unreal Campaign Committee and other volunteers are the backbone of this initiative, which reaches students in schools, at youth organizations, and virtually.
