Trademarks in Latin America—A Study of Their Economic Impact in Five Countries in the Region

Trademarks in Latin America report coverWe partnered with the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) to study how trademark-intensive sectors contribute to the economies in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, and Peru.

Across the five countries, trademark-intensive industries generated 8 to 26 percent of total employment, and 10 to 21 percent of Gross Domestic Product. This is equivalent to 18.5 million jobs and a value added per person of US $2,390 annually.
