INTA’s China Representative Office has strategically deployed an extended roadshow across China, providing Chinese brand owners with practical tools to effectively navigate the global intellectual property (IP) landscape.

A record-breaking eight pre–Annual Meeting Receptions (PAMRs) took place in China—in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Suzhou—demonstrating the rising wave of Chinese businesses going international and seeking connection with the global IP community. Notably, these cities, most of which are concentrated in the World Intellectual Property Office’s Science & Technology clusters, are innovation hubs and manufacturing bases, and are poised to expand their footprints globally.

Leveraging the popularity of the PAMRs, INTA developed a roadshow of back-to-back events to promote its “Know Before You Go” report series—the 14 jurisdiction-specific guides written in Mandarin to equip Chinese businesses with essential knowledge and actionable strategies for protecting their IP when doing business abroad. These comprehensive guides offer insights into IP applications, litigation, enforcement, and protection strategies, empowering Chinese brands to elevate their global presence. The roadshow attracted approximately 1,200 attendees—a 20 percent year-on-year increase—while also reaching more than 30,000 online viewers.

While on the road, Monica Su, INTA’s Chief Representative Officer for China, held individual meetings and conducted field trips to nearly 20 Chinese enterprises across diverse sectors, including e-commerce, advanced manufacturing, cosmetics, and household goods. These discussions highlighted the robust demand from Chinese manufacturers and enterprises for enhanced knowledge and IP expertise.

The roadshow provided an opportunity for INTA to gain first-hand insight into the challenges of legal and regulatory compliance facing Chinese businesses venturing abroad. Looking ahead, INTA’s China Representative Office will continue to implement its priorities by deepening engagement, enriching localized resources in China, and forging stronger partnerships that support smoother sailing for Chinese brands.
