INTA Appoints Anna Ostanina as Chief Representative Officer—Europe

New York, New York—September 22, 2026—The International Trademark Association (INTA) today announced the appointment of Anna Ostanina as Chief Representative Officer—Europe. Based in INTA’s Europe Representative Office in Brussels, Belgium, Ms. Ostanina will lead the Association’s advocacy, member engagement, and operational activities across Europe.

Ms. Ostanina joins INTA with more than 15 years of experience spanning intellectual property (IP) law, policy, and association leadership. Most recently, she served as Head of Legal & Institutional Relations at the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA), where she represented the organization before key European and international institutions, including the European Commission, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), among various other organizations.

“Anna brings an exceptional combination of policy expertise, legal experience, and association leadership at a time when IP issues are increasingly central to innovation, investment, and economic growth,” said INTA CEO Etienne Sanz de Acedo. “Her deep understanding of the European IP landscape, along with her established relationships across the region, will help strengthen INTA’s engagement with policymakers, institutions, and stakeholders as we continue advancing our mission as the leading association of brand owners and IP professionals in Europe and globally.”

Ms. Ostanina holds advanced law degrees from the London School of Economics and KU Leuven, and is currently pursuing an Executive Master’s in International Association Management at Solvay Brussels School. She and is fluent in English, French, Ukrainian, and Russian, and is learning Spanish. Her professional background includes private practice and in-house counsel roles. She previously held an in-house IP role at the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in Switzerland and practiced law with DLA Piper in Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

The appointment comes as INTA continues to expand its global advocacy and policy engagement efforts. The Association’s Brussels Office, which celebrates its 20th anniversary next month, serves as a central hub for engagement with European institutions and stakeholders.

INTA also announced that Tat-Tienne Louembe, who has served as Chief Representative Officer—Europe, will assume the new role of Chief Representative Officer—Africa and Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs), based in Brussels. In this position, he will continue leading INTA’s engagement across Africa while expanding the Association’s work with key international institutions, including WIPO, the World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations agencies, and international standards-setting organizations.

“Tat has played a pivotal role in advancing INTA’s presence and influence across Europe,” said Mr. Sanz de Acedo. “His expanded responsibilities reflect both his leadership and the Association’s commitment to strengthening its engagement across Africa and in global IP governance. We are excited to see him build on these achievements in this new role.”

Together, these leadership appointments reinforce INTA’s commitment to fostering collaboration with IP offices, policymakers, intergovernmental organizations, and industry stakeholders worldwide, while advancing a balanced and effective IP system that supports innovation, consumer trust, and economic development.
