New York, New York —November  21, 2018—
The International Trademark Association (INTA) is pleased to announce that Motasem Abu-Ghazaleh, Executive Director of Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is the recipient of the Association’s 2018 Volunteer Service Award for the Advancement of Trademark Law.

INTA presents the award annually to one or more individuals whose participation and efforts during the year have led to the advancement of substantive trademark law and practice.

Since he became a member of INTA in 2003, Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh has served in various volunteer capacities, including currently serving as co-chair of INTA’s Middle East Global Advisory Council.  He also is a member of the Copyright Committee, and has contributed to educational programming and membership recruitment.  As a result of INTA’s growth in the region, as well as greater awareness of intellectual property rights there, the Association will be hosting its 2018 Middle East and Africa Conference: Innovation, Investment, and IP in Dubai on December 10 and 11.

“Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh exhibits outstanding commitment toward advancing national and regional trademark law. Thanks to his tireless efforts, the Association has deepened our understanding of the intellectual property landscape in the region, and we have been building stronger relationships with key government agencies and industry leaders,” said INTA President Tish Berard.

In receiving the award, Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh said, “Being recognized for the Volunteer Service Award in the field of trademarks is a great honor, and I thank INTA for such an acknowledgment. We, at Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property, feel so proud to be part of this.”

INTA presented the award to Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh during the Association’s 2018 Leadership Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana in November.
