INTA Continues Efforts to Push for Open WHOIS Database

The WHOIS system, ICANN’s free and publicly available directory of domain name registrants, is going dark on May 25. INTA has historically supported an open, accessible, contactable, and accurate WHOIS system and now is doubling down on efforts to keep as much information as possible publicly available. Many INTA members rely on the WHOIS registrant data directory to facilitate business and combat a myriad of online abuses, including counterfeiting, phishing, and fraud.
