INTA Reaches One Million Viewers During China Fashion Week

Published: June 15, 2020

INTA participated in an online seminar organized by the China Fashion Association (CFA) focusing on intellectual property (IP) issues in the apparel industry around China Fashion Week. The two-hour seminar took place on May 9 and attracted more than one million viewers.

The discussions were moderated by INTA China Global Advisory Council co-chair Christopher Shen Chunxiang (NTD, Beijing, China). Joe Simone (SIPS, Shanghai, China) gave a presentation on the ways industry associations support IP protection for brand owners, citing as examples INTA’s continuous work in identifying best practices, recommending minimum standards for legislation, and conducting research into the scale of global counterfeiting and consumer attitudes.

The seminar furthers INTA’s cooperation with the CFA. The two organizations organized a roundtable in March 2018 in Beijing. The event was attended by Chinese judges and trademark office officials to discuss ways of strengthening protection against bad-faith filers.
