At its 2019 Europe Conference: Embracing Change, the International Trademark Association (INTA) will present dynamic keynote sessions  that highlight the Conference’s central theme and complement the myriad educational sessions that will better equip attendees to navigate the changing political and legal landscape. The Conference will be held February 18–19 in Paris, France.

On the first day of the Conference, Mathieu Morgensztern, CEO of GroupM and WPP France, and Jason Oke, EMEA Managing Director of Red Fuse in France, will delve into how brands are adapting to change across the world. On day two, Regina Polanco, Founder and CEO of Pyrates Smart Fabric in Spain, will discuss how companies are embracing change.

“The world is changing fast for brand owners and trademark professionals. The Europe conference will be providing attendees with new perspectives that can alter the narrative of their brands and their trademark teams given the current and future environment,” said INTA CEO Etienne Sanz de Acedo.

The Europe Conference will feature more than 40 speakers from a broad range of industries and experiences, including business and legal experts and government officials.

In addition to the keynote sessions, highlighted speakers are Benoît Battistelli, President of Conseil d’administration du Centre d’études internationales de la propriété intellectuelle (CEIPI), who will be interviewed by INTA 2019 President David Lossignol on the future of IP; Kate O’Rourke, Senior Counsel at Charles Russell Speechlys LLP, United Kingdom, who will discuss Brexit; and Amaryllis Verhoeven, Head of Unit, Industrial Property and the Fight against Counterfeiting, within the Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs at the European Commission, who will provide an update from the European Commission.

The panelists include Sophie Radcliffe, a United Kingdom–based blogger, adventurer, and influencer.

On the technology front, sessions will look at how artificial intelligence and blockchain will impact intellectual property (IP) practice, the impact of technology on IP offices, and data privacy and protection.

The robust program also will include sessions on the changing role of trademark teams, monetizing IP assets, the impact of European copyright reform on creative works, and solutions to fight counterfeiting.
