INTA Board of Directors Approves Amendments to Bylaws

Published: April 2, 2025

On March 18, 2025, at INTA’s quarterly board meeting in New York, New York, USA, the Board of Directors voted to approve a resolution amending the Association’s bylaws to address three issues surrounding eligibility requirements for members to serve as officers.

The amendment allows for the following:

  • Streamlining the officer track for representatives of Regular Members from six to four years;
  • Expanding leadership opportunities for representatives of Associate Members, including the eligibility to serve as Secretary and in one Vice President position; and
  • In terms where a Counsel is appointed from outside the United States, an additional Association Counsel position may be created for a U.S.-based candidate to provide expertise on U.S. legal matters as needed.

The Board approved the adoption of the changes as presented, effective March 18, 2025. Nominations for Board members and all officer positions will begin in April and are due no later than Friday, May 30, 2025. Please be sure to submit your nominations and encourage others to do so as well.
