INTA Hosts Anticounterfeiting Policy Dialogue in Belgium

INTA, in collaboration with the Belgian Association Anti-Counterfeiting (ABAC BAAN) and the Asian Coalition Against Counterfeiting and Piracy, hosted an anticounterfeiting policy dialogue in Brussels, Belgium, on December 10. A panel of members from the associations discussed the health and safety dangers of counterfeiting with attendees, consisting of fellow association members, brand owners, and government officials. Based on the discussion, the panelists proposed key recommendations to combat counterfeiting, including  initiating European Union-wide counterfeit awareness campaigns, hiring an intellectual property (IP) coordinator focused on the fight against counterfeits, and raising awareness of IP crime as an EU priority.
