INTA PAC Debuts Quarterly Call for Capitol Club Members
Published: March 24, 2021
The INTA Political Action Committee (PAC) held its inaugural Quarterly Call (videoconference) to brief members of the Capitol Club on March 17. The Quarterly Call is the latest initiative of INTA PAC designed to provide eligible Association members with need-to-know information covering the legislative landscape on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., USA.
INTA PAC is a nonpartisan group that supports members of Congress who are leaders on trademark issues of concern for INTA members, brand owners, and consumers. The INTA PAC operates through donations from eligible U.S. members, and membership in the Capitol Club requires a minimum annual contribution to provide the entity with the necessary means to advocate meaningfully.
The Quarterly Call titled, “A View from Washington: Democratic and Republican Perspectives,” was hosted by INTA PAC Board of Governors Chair Michael Moore (Mattel, Inc., USA) and Jenny McDowell, INTA Director of Government Relations, Washington D.C., and featured INTA political consultants Alec French and Carl Thorsen of Thorsen French Advocacy, Washington, D.C.
The videoconference provided participants with first-hand political assessments on legislative, public policy, and regulatory issues impacting brand owners, from policy experts on INTA’s Government Relations team. Importantly, the virtual briefing also included a robust question and answer segment allowing participants to fully engage with experts.
“So much information gets reported in the national and IP community news, but this reporting often omits the subtle and important nuances that shape the landscape and political dynamics affecting the legislative and regulatory processes in Washington, D.C.,” said Mr. Moore. The Capitol Club Quarterly Calls are designed to fill in the gaps.
INTA’s Washington, D.C., advocacy team will hold these briefings for the three membership levels of the Capitol Club: quarterly for Rotunda members, twice a year for Chambers members, and once per year for Gallery members, to provide insights from D.C. insiders and news that affects members’ business and practice.
If you are a U.S. INTA member and want to find out more about the issues in front of the U.S. Congress and the new U.S. administration, then the Capitol Club is the place for you.
In addition to the new Quarterly Call, the INTA PAC Capitol Club provides other valuable benefits for its Capitol Club members. Benefits include access to top-level speakers such as members of Congress, early access to registration for the Annual Meeting and Leadership Meeting (when held in person), and opportunities to meet with others who share a desire to be in the know.
Membership in the Capitol Club requires a minimum annual contribution, with three levels of giving, Rotunda, Chambers, and Gallery, each offering access to their own unique benefits. Learn more about the three levels of membership and how to join the Club.
