Canadian Lawyer Wins International Trademark Association’s Tomorrow’s Leader Award
Published: November 16, 2022
Miami, Florida—November 15, 2022—The International Trademark Association (INTA) announced that Emilie Feil-Fraser, a lawyer and trademark agent at Seastone IP LLP in Vancouver, Canada, is a winner of the INTA Tomorrow’s Leader Award.
The global association of brand owners and professionals presents this award annually to outstanding professionals who have been practicing trademark law for five years or less. The award’s intention is to inspire the next generation of intellectual property (IP) professionals and to help accelerate the development of the recipients within the Association and the global trademark community.
Emilie Feil-Fraser has established herself as a voice for female entrepreneurship in Canada, doing all she can to attract, nurture, and empower women-led businesses and women entrepreneurs as clients, focusing on their trademark rights. She is also active in the Canadian cannabis legalization movement, directing her efforts on the emerging trademark issues as they relate to standardizing, defining, and asserting trademarks regarding cannabis strain names.
“As a recipient of the 2022 Tomorrow’s Leader Award, it is such an honor to know my work in these areas resonates with others. I am so excited to become more involved with INTA and give back to an international community that does so much for our profession,” Ms. Feil-Fraser said in response to winning her award.
INTA President Veeger Zink congratulated Ms. Feil-Fraser, describing her as “a forward thinker in the IP community, focused as much on enriching the experience of women-led businesses as she is on identifying future IP opportunities in emerging industries.”
The Tomorrow’s Leader Award was presented at INTA’s 2022 Leadership Meeting in Miami, Florida, which is taking place through November 18. Isabella Estabile, an attorney at law at Kasznar Leonardos Intellectual Property Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, also received the Tomorrow’s Leader Award.
