INTA Foundation Launches Fellowship Program Online Application
Published: November 3, 2022
New York, New York—November 3, 2022—The INTA Foundation is proud to announce the launch the INTA Foundation Fellowship Program online application. The Fellowship Program offers a one-time grant for eligible organizations seeking to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the study or practice of trademark protection and intellectual property (IP) law.
“We are very happy to have the Fellowship Program application available online to potential grant recipients worldwide,” said INTA Foundation Chair Toe Su Aung (Elipe Limited, United Kingdom). “This will also allow many worthy applicants whom we might not know to apply for a grant. It also facilitates a smoother streamlined application process for us.”
“The INTA Foundation is committed to helping broaden access to the field of IP. The INTA Foundation Fellowship Program is opening new doors through its grants and scholarships,” added INTA CEO Etienne Sanz de Acedo.
Permissible uses of the grant include but are not limited to awarding scholarships to deserving IP students from underrepresented communities, supporting research in global trademark protection, and creating outreach programs designed to promote DEI in IP education and professional development.
Nonprofit organizations exempt from tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. tax code are encouraged to apply. Applications from nonexempt organizations or exempt organizations not described in Section 501(c)(3) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Recipients will be required to participate in an interview before grants are awarded and subsequently enter into a grant agreement governing the usage of the grant funds.
“This marks the first of many exciting and innovative milestones of the Foundation which we will be sharing with the IP community in the next few months,” added Ms. Aung.
