Call for 2022 Award Nominations

INTA is pleased to invite nominations for the President’s Award and INTA Service Awards 2022. Nominations are due no later than September 2.

The awards recognize the efforts of our dedicated volunteers to advance our Association and the interests of the global intellectual property (IP) community. Join us in celebrating the achievements of fellow members by nominating those deserving of an INTA award.

The President’s Award acknowledges, with the profound appreciation of the global trademark and complementary IP community, those individuals of an INTA member organization who, over the course of a career in trademark and complementary IP law, have epitomized our mission and made a lasting impact on our Association. In 2021, the recipients were Pravin Anand (Anand and Anand Advocates, India) and Iris Quadrio (Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal, Argentina).

Three categories of INTA Service Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have provided exemplary service to the Association during the previous year:

  • Advancement of Association Objectives;
  • INTA Members for a Better Society; and
  • INTA Membership Champion Award, for which INTA staff will submit nominations.

INTA President’s Award

The President’s Award acknowledges the profound appreciation of the global trademark and complementary IP community to one or more individuals of an INTA member organization who, over the course of a career in trademark and complementary IP law, have made a lasting impact on INTA and the Association’s mission.

Criteria
Awarded to one or more individuals of an INTA member organization who:

  • Provide consistently outstanding service to the Association through work on committees, task forces, and/or the Board of Directors;
  • Offer innovative approaches to the fulfillment of INTA’s mission and who have had an enduring impact on the Association; and
  • Act as role models and leaders in the practice of trademark and complementary IP law.

Eligible to Nominate

  • Board of Directors and  Counsel
  • INTA Foundation Board of Governors and Counsel
  • Past Presidents and Past Counsel
  • Committee members

Eligible for Nomination
Any individual representative of an INTA member organization.

INTA Service Awards

The three categories of Service Awards recognize individuals and organizations that provide exemplary service to INTA.

Advancement of Association Objectives
Awarded to one or more individuals of an INTA member organization whose participation, efforts, and innovative thinking during the year have advanced:

(a) substantive trademark and related IP law and practice;
(b) committee or subcommittee objectives; or
(c) the strategic objectives of INTA’s 2022‒2025 Strategic Plan.

Eligible to Nominate

  • Board of Directors and Counsel
  • INTA Foundation Board of Governors and Counsel
  • Past Presidents and Past Counsel
  • Committee members
  • Global Advisory Council, Programming Advisory Council, and Research Advisory Council participants
  • Task Force and Project Team members
  • INTA staff

Eligible for Nomination
Any individual representative of an INTA member organization.

INTA Members for a Better Society

Awarded to an INTA member organization or to one or more individuals of an INTA member organization that has demonstrated during the year how brands positively impact society and build consumer trust through initiatives relating to:

(a) corporate social responsibility;
(b) diversity and inclusion; or
(c) pro bono legal services.

  • Board of Directors and Counsel
  • INTA Foundation Board of Governors and Counsel
  • Past Presidents and Past Counsel
  • Committee members
  • Global Advisory Council, Programming Advisory Council, and Research Advisory Council participants

Any INTA member organization or an individual representative of INTA member organization.

INTA Membership Champion Award

Criteria
Awarded to one or more individuals who during the year have helped grow INTA membership, increased awareness of INTA, and promoted member benefits while demonstrating their combined passion for trademark and complementary IP law and their commitment to INTA through such exceptional efforts as introductions to potential members, hosting recruitment events and roundtables, participating in delegations, and sharing their own INTA experience to facilitate knowledge and understanding of the Association.

INTA Officers will evaluate all nominations and select award recipients. Please join us for the announcement of the 2022 INTA Service Award winners during the 2022 Leadership Meeting, taking place November 15‒18 in Miami, Florida, USA.

Nominations are due no later than September 2.
