Trademark Administrators and Practitioners Meeting to Provide Practical Skills for Managing Trademark Portfolios
Published: July 1, 2019
New York, New York—July 1, 2019—The International Trademark Association (INTA) will be holding its Trademark Administrators and Practitioners (TMAP) Meeting in Berlin, Germany on September 15–17, providing hundreds of trademark professionals with knowledge, tools, and best practices to manage global trademark portfolios in a fast-changing environment.
It is the second time that INTA is having its annual TMAP Meeting outside the United States. It was held in Alicante, Spain in 2015.
TMAP’s educational programming is designed for both experienced and new trademark administrators, paralegals, lawyers, and other professionals who focus on brand protection and global trademark portfolios. Sessions cover essential trademark and brand-related issues, key changes in trademark law, and best practices in brand protection, as well as professional development.
The sessions feature moderators and speakers representing law firms and brands from almost every continent. In addition, representatives of several European intellectual property offices will provide updates and tips to navigate their systems and resources.
”The sessions are intentionally crafted to ensure that registrants gain valuable information that they’ll be able to utilize in their day-to-day job functions,” said INTA CEO Etienne Sanz de Acedo. “Since registrants will be coming to Berlin from around the world, TMAP also offers a great opportunity to network and learn from each other—showcasing how collaboration can help professionals keep up with changes in the field.”
New this year is the TMAP Idea Exchange, which will provide registrants with a chance to network in a casual setting and discuss topics of interest, including choosing the right foreign counsel, registering local language versions of trademarks, and online enforcement. Other networking opportunities include a sightseeing bus tour of Berlin and a dine-around event—informal small group dinners at various restaurants in the city.
