Overview
The Integrating IP, Finance, and Valuation Workshop in Warsaw will examine how intellectual property (IP) and intangible assets support value creation in Poland’s evolving economy, where manufacturing strength, technical knowhow, and rapidly growing technology sectors coexist with increasing cross border integration within the European Union.
Poland is continuously climbing rankings in innovation (Global Innovation Index 2024–2026) and demonstrates steady performance in patenting and industrial design activity, reflecting both a growing and still-maturing innovation ecosystem.
Taking place at Dom Towarowy Bracia Jabłkowscy S.A., the Workshop will connect the historical foundations of commerce with today’s intangible-driven economy.
As Polish companies move up the value chain—from contract manufacturing toward innovation-led growth—IP, data, and proprietary knowledge are becoming central to competitiveness, financing, and strategic control.
Simultaneously, a significant share of Poland’s IP protection occurs through EU-level systems such as the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), beyond solely national filings, underscoring the country’s integration within regional IP and trade frameworks.
Part of INTA’s global workshop series, the Warsaw program focuses on how intangible assets function in practice across Poland’s business landscape, particularly for industrial enterprises, SMEs, and technology-driven firms.

This session will explore how IP is shaping business strategy, investment decisions, and value creation as companies operating in Poland and Central Europe move up the value chain and expand across borders. Participants will examine how organizations are managing IP in complex regulatory environments, leveraging intangible assets for competitive advantage, and responding to rapid developments in digitalization and artificial intelligence in an increasingly integrated EU market.

Panel 2: IP, Financing, and Growth for Polish SMEs and Scale‑Ups
This panel will examine how IP and intangible assets are treated in financing decisions affecting Polish SMEs and growing enterprises, including bank lending, investment, and public private funding mechanisms. With an economic structure dominated by microenterprises (accounting for 90% of firms), the discussion will address why IP is often underutilized in financing, how valuation gaps affect access to capital, and what role patents, software, data, and trade secrets can realistically play in growth funding. Despite the availability of legal protections and mechanisms for licensing and commercialization, attention will be given to practical constraints, limited awareness, institutional expectations, and emerging approaches to bridging the gap between innovation and finance.
