The 2025 Trademark Administrators & Practitioners (TMAP) Meeting is this year’s must-attend event for trademark administrators, paralegals, young practitioners, and attorneys who oversee global trademark portfolios. And INTA is thrilled to host this event in Germany’s vibrant capital of Berlin.

Refunds & Substitution Policies

We encourage you to review our Event Policies, which apply to all INTA events.

Refunds

For consideration of a refund for the TMAP Meeting, submit your Refund Request Form to INTA Member Operations stating in detail the reason for the refund request and including copies of relevant supporting documents for the refund request.

Full refunds for the registration fee and VAT paid, minus an administration fee of US $250, will be issued for refunds requested by Saturday, August 30, 2025, 11:59 pm (U.S. Eastern Time).

A refund of 75 percent of the registration fee and VAT paid, minus a US $250 administration fee, will be issued for refunds requested between Sunday, August 31, 2025, and Saturday, September 13, 2025, 11:59 pm (U.S. Eastern Time).

No refunds of registration fees or VAT will be given beyond Sunday, September 14, 2025, 12:00 am (U.S. Eastern Time).

Substitutions

Your base registration for the 2025 TMAP Meeting is transferable to another person affiliated with your umbrella member organization. Add-on business development activities for the TMAP Meeting are transferable to another person who is registered for the 2025 TMAP Meeting.

To facilitate the registration substitution process, please submit your Substitution Request Form to INTA Member Operations, stating in detail the reason for the substitution and the person attending in your place. If you would like to transfer your add-on business development activity to another person, please contact INTA Member Operations.

All substitution requests must be submitted by Thursday, September 18, 2025, 11:59 pm (U.S. Eastern Time).

German VAT Recovery

Businesses, which are not VAT registered in Germany, depending on where they are established, have two options to recover VAT:

EU established businesses can use the Refund Directive mechanism to submit their claims. All claims have to be submitted by September 30th for VAT incurred in the previous calendar year. All information can be found here.
Non-EU established businesses can apply for the VAT recovery only as long as they are established in one of the “reciprocal” countries. Companies from countries listed here (information only available in German) cannot recover the VAT via this recovery process. Companies from countries not listed can recover VAT via this recovery process and can find all necessary information here.

INTA’s official room block is sold out on Monday night.

IMPORTANT:

INTA’s room block is sold out at the Mercure Hotel MOA Berlin on Monday night. The only nights left available are September 26 to September 28 (check-out on September 29). Alternatively, below are listed some hotels within walking distance to the Mercure Hotel MOA Berlin. All rooms in these hotels are sold at market rate and INTA has not negotiated any room blocks.

Reservations

Check-in and Check-out

Guest accommodations will be available at 3:00 pm on arrival day; check out must be by 12:00 pm on departure day. Any attendee wishing special consideration for late check-out should inquire at the front desk on the day of departure.

Hotel Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your reservation free of charge up to seven days before arrival until 6:00 pm local time. For cancellations made later than that, or in case of no-show, a fee of 90 percent of the total price (including overnight stay and breakfast, excluding Overnight Stay Tax) will be charged.

All registrants should check the official guidelines for entry requirements to Germany here. If you require a visa, please process your application at the local German embassy in your jurisdiction.

If your visa application requires additional information stating that you are attending the TMAP meeting, please coordinate with the Mercure Hotel MOA Berlin and contact David Schmidt at [email protected]. Please note that INTA will not be able to issue such a letter as we do not have a legal business entity in Germany.

Travel to Germany by Air

Travelers arriving by plane will land at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), which (as of 2020) has replaced Tegel and Schönefeld airports as the main airport.

For a swift and hassle-free security check when leaving Germany, it is advisable to arrive two to two and a half hours before your departure time, especially during peak times. You can reserve a time slot for security checks at BER Runway at no cost. Detailed information on airlines and baggage check-in can be found on the airport’s website.

Discover Berlin’s rich history and vibrant culture on this engaging walking tour. Wander through the beautifully restored Hackesche Höfe, where history, street art, and modern life intertwine. Stroll along Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the stunning Berlin Cathedral and world-renowned museums like the Pergamon Museum and Altes Museum.

Follow the historic Unter den Linden boulevard, passing landmarks such as Humboldt University, where Einstein once taught, and Bebelplatz, the site of the infamous Nazi book burning, marked by the haunting Empty Library memorial. Admire the Staatsoper (State Opera House) and the Neue Wache, a solemn war memorial. Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial: Remembering The Past

Discover the history of Sachsenhausen, the first concentration camp purpose-built by the Third Reich, located just outside Berlin. Throughout the war, it remained the closest major camp to the Nazi capital.

During your visit, you’ll learn how, when, and why the concentration camps and the broader system came into existence and evolved. We’ll explore how these camps developed from improvised prisons into purpose-built facilities, and examine the multitude of functions they served—including forced labor, medical experimentation, systematic murder, and mass murder—both within and sometimes beyond the camp itself, from the summer of 1936 until Sachsenhausen’s liberation in late April 1945. Transportation is included.
